With the fall holidays coming fast and with only a few days apart, it’s the perfect time to add this DIY leaf bowl to your craft to-do list. A quick trip to the craft store and you can turn a handful of artificial leaves and a balloon into a festive decorative bowl.
For Halloween, you can make several of these pieces to put candies and treats for trick or treating. On Thanksgiving, you can make this decorative leaf bowl into a centerpiece with fruits in it.

What You’ll Need for Your DIY Leaf Bowl Balloon Medium bowl Artificial leaves, mixed fall colors Mod Podge Paintbrush or sponge

DIY Leaf Bowl Instructions Step 1. Blow Up a Balloon
Inflate the balloon and tie it to close. Place the balloon in a bowl with the tie part down, then gather a handful of artificial leaves in mixed fall colors.
However, if you like to use real ones and you’ve picked some really good decorative fall leaves, you may try them, too.

Step 2. Glue Leaves on Balloon
Use your paintbrush to cover a leaf-sized spot on the balloon with Mod Podge and press a fabric leaf onto the spot. Cover the leaf with more Mod Podge and repeat with the remaining leaves.
Continue until you’ve made a bowl shape out of your leaves.

Step 3. Cover the Leaves with Mod Podge
Paint a thick coat of Mod Podge over the leaves. Don’t worry about getting it all too wet and white because it will clear once dry.
Step 4. Let it Dry
When the leaf bowl is the size you like, you can set it aside and let it dry overnight.
Step 5. Pop Balloon!

When fully dry, pop the balloon and carefully peel it out of the bowl. You can put candies in it for trick-or-treating or you can turn it into table centerpieces.
