An all day French inspired European cuisine restaurant, Brasserie Cinq focuses on traditional French flavours. The kitchen here follows traditional and authentic cooking methods which make the restaurant stand apart from several others in Pune city.
A bright yellow door opens to a cheerful ambience and the beautiful sight of chandeliers and Victorian themed furniture gives you a sense of elegance as you enter this restaurant. The mirror walls complement the crystal chandeliers as you walk through.
This restaurant also has rustic wood logs along the window which makes it a perfect setting to enjoy over coffee and meetings. The vertical garden outside the restaurant adds to the beauty of the decor and sets the tone for a wonderful meal. The best part is the open kitchen where you can observe expert chefs creating art on a plate for you to enjoy.
Speaking about the uniqueness of his restaurant, Ambar Rode says, “Keeping it transparent the restaurant has a big serving window to the kitchen through which guests can enjoy the actual preparation of dishes. The plates are also hand crafted which enhances the appearance of the food.
Beautifully presented dishes include grilled peach burrata salad with rocket and vinacotta
There are many contributions people have given in taking Brasserie CINQ to the floor. The credit goes to the entire team, our partners, suppliers for sourcing the best possible produce. Every person working in and for the restaurant is family and works with a sense of ownership.”
The chef strongly believes in giving equal attention, love and care to every dish/plate that is being prepared in the kitchen. Every main course, tartine, soup and dessert depicts the philosophy of the restaurant. Retaining the best quality at all times is not just a trade but a language for every personnel involved in the service. Brasserie Cinq keeps a progressive approach towards cooking yet keeping the traditional ways of cooking intact through various cooking methods.
While at the restaurant I started a fantastic meal with jumbo grill prawns with burnt lemon mayo and citrus chilli butter and deconstructed salmon roulade, beetroot cured salmon with lemon creme, capers and fennel. A chilled glass of one of their signature cocktails Guavatini complemented the excellent quality of the starters.
This was followed by a grilled peach burrata salad with rocket and vinacotta and Linguini king prawns, capers, jamon, cherry tomatoes and chilli for the main course. I ended a delightful meal high on visual appeal and taste by enjoying the chef’s signature desserts of mix berry cheesecake, house granola and berry sorbet and dark chocolate semifriddo, coffee sponge, espresso gel with berry sorbet.
Diners can finish their meals with one of the restaurants delicious signature desserts
Ambar Rode grew up in the kitchen watching his mother as she was in the catering business, “I still remember the joy on her face whenever she used to cook. It got me hooked and that moment I decided I want to be a chef one day and sell happiness on a plate. You create something magical and you are able to see it on a plate, this thought is very inspiring for me.
After completing a course on hotel management, I was still confused about my career, I wanted to come up with my own venture, so I decided to go for further studies at Le Cordon Bleu. That’s where I got work with different kind of chefs,
I learnt not only about cooking but the philosophy behind creating a fantastic plate of food. Working in fine dining restaurants like Café Sydney, Le Grande Bouffee really helped me hone my skills and knowledge. I think it’s very important to work with good chefs, who give you proper guidance in this career.”
A meal at Brasserie Cinq is a combination of fantastic food that looks like art on a plate, efficient service along with a cheerful and elegant ambience. Worth several visits!
