Facial cleansing brushes are making waves in the beauty world. This is because they are able to cleanse skin more thoroughly than with regular cleansing, as well as massage it for a more radiant complexion. But if you dont know how to use one properly, you could be doing more harm than good. Heres how to use one the right way and reap all the skincare benefits.
1. Dont overdo it
It might be tempting to use your facial cleansing brush for every face-washing session, but its important that you dont overuse it. Start by using it once a week, working up to three times a week, preferably in the evening. This will ensure your skin barrier remains healthy and that your skin doesnt become irritated or inflamed.

2. Keep it clean
You might not think that you need to take the time to clean your cleansing tool, since it spends so much time around water and soaps, but not only should you rinse it thoroughly after each face-washing session, you should also deep-clean it with an alcohol-based cleansing wash weekly to keep germs and bacteria at bay.
3. Dont share
You might *love* the results you get from using a cleansing brush, but letting your friends or family share your gadget is a no-go, even if you do clean it regularly. This can spread bacteria, which can lead to breakouts and skin irritation. Rather encourage them to buy their own so that they can see first-hand what all the fuss is about!

4. Stick to the face
After seeing how much your face glows when using this brush, you might want to use it on other areas of your body as well. This is not advisable, as it can lead to an imbalance of the naturally occurring bacteria on your skin (and also lead to your brush bristles deteriorating more quickly).
5. Go gently
A facial cleansing brush does a lot of the work that our fingers cant, which means that you only need to apply light pressure for it to be effective. Apply too much pressure and you can irritate your skin. Its also best to use a light gel or foaming cleanser, and not other exfoliating products that contain acids or microbeads.
