When can you decorate for fall?
Personally, I like to get a jump on fall decorating by the end of August. This pretty much correlates with the kids heading back to school. For me, I like to follow the steps below for starting to decorate for fall. But, if your kids go back after Labor Day, that is a great time to get decorating too.

Fall Decorating Ideas
How to decorate for fall? Start by window shopping, shopping online, then pick your favorite fall finds. Order and buy what you need to decorate for fall. (I love using Amazon with free Prime Shipping. Don’t have it yet? Try Prime for free for 30 days.) Add to what you already have. (But, some years I start with fresh new picks for fall.) Then, start boxing up all the summer decor items. Do a deep clean. (Move furniture, sweep, Swiffer, vacuum, dust. Start at the top, work your way down when doing home organization and cleaning.) Plan how the transition for fall home decor. Gather all your fall decor accents for decorating. Begin to decorate your home. Create vignettes Add a new table runner or fall table cloth Grab new fall pillows or pillow covers. Add baskets, centerpieces with fall colors and flowers or plants. Grab a throw, the weather will be cooling. Add it to your couch or comfy chair. Don’t forget the kitchen! Adding kitchen towels, cute coffee cups… Pick a few neutral items such as a tiered stand, coffee mug holders, candlesticks, baskets, … that can be used for every season, by changing decor accent pieces.
