At least one restaurant in the Inland Empire announced cleaning and disinfecting relating to the novel coronavirus in recent days.

Consuelo’s Home Style Mexican Food in Banning closed after an employee tested positive for the virus, underwent cleaning and disinfecting, and reopened Friday, July 24, with clearance from Riverside County Public Health, according to a post on its Facebook page.

Such closures are voluntary and not reported by health officials in Riverside or San Bernardino counties. The news usually becomes public when businesses tell their customers on social media. There have been several such announcements throughout the Inland Empire in recent weeks.

But health officials have made infractions of COVID-19 guidelines part of their regular inspections in both counties. They recently Los Victor Mexican Food for three employees not wearing masks.
